You will need to login before you can apply for a job.Vice President, Data Analytics - Quality ControlAbout this roleAladdin Data (AD) is entrusted with maintaining all data integral to the investment decision process. The function serves BlackRock the Investment Manager and its BlackRock Solutions (BRS) business, in our proprietary Aladdin end-to-end investment platform. This team closely partners with key internal teams, such as Portfolio Management, Global Capital Markets, Relationship Management, Portfolio Compliance, Risk Analytics, Regulatory Reporting, and others, to ensure their business data needs are met accurately, timely, and efficiently.The AD philosophy is anchored on BlackRock's cornerstone principles: Fiduciary focus, Passion for Performance, the unified purpose of One BlackRock, taking Emotional Ownership and Being Committed to a Better Future. Our function has presence across 12 offices in 8 countries, servicing more than $25 trillion in AUM on Aladdin for a client base spanning 6 continents and all spectrums of the financial markets.Within AD sits the Data Analytics Quality (DAQ) function, which owns price, economy, security and portfolio level risk analytics quality control, index and returns controls along with the governance and design of these QC processes. This team ensures our clients have the highest quality of risk analytics & performance outcomes. We do so by focusing on building scale and efficiency by integrating data science to craft and implement a centralized quality platform for key risk analytics metrics. The team strives to build in-depth subject matter expertise in risk analytics, return outcomes, capital markets as well as BlackRock's proprietary risk models and Aladdin software suite to service that mission.Key responsibilities:

  • Oversight of daily quality control and validation of risk and portfolio analytics. Occasionally consulting on reference data, returns, performance, index, and pricing data.
  • All facets of people management to be performed including ensuring appropriate staffing model, depth charts, and succession plans are assessed.
  • Applying research skills, critical thinking and financial math to analyze analytical trend and operator decision making into enhancement proposals to QC models and methodologies.
  • Initiating and driving platform and process innovations to support new business needs, minimize risk, enhance quality, and navigate the changing markets while mitigating operational risk.
  • Collaborating closely with the market analytics and financial modeling groups to expand understanding of our models.
  • Understand client data needs and service levels while working with internal BlackRock Teams to provide relevant and intuitive analysis.
  • Acting as an agent of change to consistently improve procedures and own projects within the QC environment and documenting best-practices.Skills:
    • Consistent record of leadership experience and positively influencing junior talent and their career progression.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft office, SQL, UNIX and expertise in other programming languages in addition to python is a huge plus and an aptitude for learning new applications.
    • Strong, effective analytical and problem-solving skills along with executive decision-making abilities. Attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively articulate solutions to internal and external partners and clients.
    • Capability to assist in creating a team vision, planning and executing steps to align to Key Performance Indicators and objectives.
    • Strong initiative to follow up on outstanding issues - identify what needs to be done, act and follow through to resolution.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends to make informed decisions. Proficiency in planning, executing, and overseeing projects to meet deadlines and achieve objectives.
    • Strong understanding of financial mathematics, analysis, and modeling techniques. Familiarity with financial technology (FinTech), data analysis tools, and relevant software platforms.Experience:
      • A bachelor's/master's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering is required.
      • 8 - 12 years of financial services experience and a good understanding of Financial Markets, preferably within the Investment Management industry.
      • Possess and demonstrate a proven understanding of fixed income, equity, and derivative financial instruments.
      • 5 years people management experience; demonstrated experience in leading teams of professionals, career development and performance assessments.
      • Proven track record in project management.
      • Experience in working with senior partners, client experience a plus.
      • Experience or education related to agile methodologies is a plus.For Seattle, WA Only the salary range for this position is USD$127,500.00 - USD$184,000.00. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
