Job description
Join the Lacey KPFF team as an entry level Instrument Person on our
surveying team. In this role, you will be responsible for
conducting field surveys using various surveying instruments and
equipment while maintaining high accuracy standards.
Applications should include a resume and cover letter.
The position entails field work and minimal office work. Job duties
include field topographic, boundary, right-of-way and construction
surveying, and supporting office staff.
Operate surveying instruments including total stations, GPS
equipment, and data collectors
Perform construction layout and topographic surveys
Record field measurements and maintain detailed field notes
Set up and maintain survey equipment
Assist in establishing horizontal and vertical control points
Follow safety protocols and procedures on construction sites
Transport equipment to and from job sites
Perform basic calculations and verify data accuracy
Communicate effectively with survey crew members and project
leads
Maintain equipment in proper working condition
Job requirements
Minimum 1 year experience in the land surveying field
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Valid Driver License
Carlson Survey software, Topcon robotics and AutoCAD experience
desired
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work outdoors in various weather conditions on uneven terrain.
Physical ability to lift, carry, and set up equipment weighing up
to 50 pounds.
Operate surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS units,
and data collectors, with precision.
Adhere to safety protocols and wear required protective gear while
working on active job sites.

Compensation
The base salary for this role is competitive, with a range of
$48,000 - $65,000 determined by experience, education, and skills.
KPFF also offers performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding
contributions. Additional details about the full compensation
package will be provided during the interview process.
